Annabel de Vries (b. Marin County, CA) is a San Francisco-based photographer whose work centers on family, memory, and the emotional landscapes of personal history. She earned her BFA in Photography from the California College of the Arts in 2024, where she developed a strong foundation in analog processes and darkroom printing techniques. She has exhibited work in Marin Moca and The Jones Institute. Rooted in traditional black-and-white film photography, her practice often involves creating silver gelatin prints that reflect her family's intimate and evolving dynamics.

De Vries's work is deeply rooted in place and personal narrative, often set along the Northern California coast, where her family lives. Her recent projects explore themes of grief, aging, and the healing of generational trauma, with a particular emphasis on her mother as a central figure and emotional anchor.

She continues to develop long-form bodies of work that blend documentary and poetic approaches, using photography as a means of understanding connection, identity, and change.
